craft concept compisition

For my final lamp project i will talke about 3 things mentioned in the title

the craft, it was made with a laser cutter so it came out very neat.

the concept was to use a ipad as a lamp, it was successful

the compisition to me was very modern, it was simplistic yet appealing.

Here is a video of the lamp to show the specs of it in real time. I made the video that is being shown on a ipad. it is essentially a cover to a rap album i am working on.

As of the last 3 weeks ive been designing a lamp ive gone through many failed attempts but now i am finally coming up on something decent. i am using a ipad template to design my lamp around

last week we worked on building a lamp or least sketching with 3d objects and a light to build sketches.

what ive been up to

ive been in the process of documenting the 3d work. it isnt enough to simply make a 3d object but one has to document it acurately. heres my attempt to represent my objects.

Special 3d art and video gallery

I visited a art gallery exhibition a while back pertaining to video art. however it was quite different than a dispayed art on a screen. it was submersive and to a point interactive. it was 3D. the way the video was setup it had 3 dimension. You were able to walk into the installation and then from all angles experience the art.

In the MOOD to make Tea pt1

Making tea boxes was challenging. I had no idea designing a tea box from scratch would be so difficult or so time consuming. After many long hours filled with error and trials of all sorts i finally managed to wip out a decent end product. it was a proud self achievement. My next assignment was to take photos of this assignment in which i took it with natural light and the second with dramatic lighting. view my next post for more picture variation.

 

 

 

 

Tea Box Design prototype and Completion

This week I had to make 3 tea box designs from a single layout design. I struggled with the dimensions and the crafting of the box so I wont have any progress shots yet. I will upload some failed prototypes later. I learned a lot from the failed attempts. also I don't really have a lot of time out side of class to really master the art of 3d design and it sucks because I really crave the craft. I plan to successfully bang out some dope 3d art by Monday hands down.

Jasmine Tea is made of Jasmine tea

This week i designed a tea box, tea tag, and tea envelope.

i designed the layout to fit 12 tea envelopes and it was quite difficult. i am unsure if this design will be successful but i am full of hope. I will print it and cut it out next week and keep you updated.

DESIGN cube concepts

this week with the 3d design i ran into a couple hardships with cube designs. we used a software called silhouette studio and a machine to cut our designs it was interesting in that i learned to utilize different techniques to make stronger boxes.

illustrator 3d computer design

so this week we had to sketch out some designs using illustrator a computer software. It was actually easier to map out in the system than in person. the lines were easier to create and it felt more intuitive.
